Biathlon Australia will hold a 2026 IBU Oceania Regional Event at the Whiskey Flat biathlon centre near Mount Hotham Vicoria.

The event will be open to all Australian and New Zealand biathlon competitors across all age groups - but particularly aimed at Youth and Junior competitors

The event follows IBU's aim to support Nations with good quality international competitions for young athletes based on international cooperation. Furthermore, it strives to increase the activity and efficiency of biathlon federations/associations and clubs in promoting biathlon among children and youth.

BNZ strongly encourages and will support any travelling team members. This is an ideal stepping stone to European competition and is the path followed by numerous NZ biathletes in the past - including Campbell Wright.
